Lassi Kaleva You can crop into 1920x1080. You will be loosing resolution but also shorts are mostly being viewed on a phone so probably wont matter that much.
However, I still suggest shooting in 4k to always have plenty of space to be able to crop in. Much better option than trying to use a 2nd camera. That just seems like a pain to manage and then things like eye line will be off if you're talking to the camera.

Personally I would avoid NAS systems unless you absolutely need access to it via the web. I used Synology for a while and it was frustrating for me to deal with.
Now I use a Raid that I built with an OWC enclosure. Here's a video where I break down my whole workflow from camera to to final archiving of data.
